Welcome to the GUISD Website
This site is designed to promote case method teaching in international affairs. It is used by over 170 colleges and universities in the United States and abroad.
The catalog also includes books by the Institute for the Study of Diplomacy, and its parent organization, the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service. The School sells its Georgetown Journal of International Affairs on this site.
Every attempt is made to make the site pages clean and quick. Suggestions are welcomed.
In two years, we have converted over 200 case studies for distribution in pdf format. This has enabled us to keep the case price low, $3.50 each. It also enables students to easily purchase and download reading materials.
There is one point we must stress for customers who purchase files in pdf format. Adobe Acrobat Reader is required to open and print these files. The files are encrypted.
If the file is opened in Word or WordPerfect, for example, you will see page after page of characters that make no sense.
If you have Acrober Reader, open Reader. Then select File, Open, and browse to where the pdf file is filed. Select the file and click Open.
If you do not have Acrobat Reader, it is a free download from the Adobe website, http://www.adobe.com. On the Adobe home page, click the button for Get Acrobat Reader. The free download version will work with GUISD's pdf files.
We also offer publications in paper format, at a slightly higher price, plus shipping. Case studies in paper format cost $5.00.

7 Days to Download Files We realize that many students do not have time to download files at the time they are purchased. With the username and password you create, you can return to the site within 7 days to download the file(s).
Privacy The information you provide is only used to complete your order. We do not sell the list to other marketers. We do not send e-mail's or flyers with the latest publication information. We encourage you to be accurate when completing the credit/debit card billing information. The authorizing agent we use to clear this information may decline your purchase in an effort to deter fraud. The e-mail address you provide is equally important. When you register with the site, we will send you an e-mail with your username and password so that you can access your records at a future date.
